A confidential client contracted Bear to build out their 45,000 sq. ft. space in Chicago's Merchandise Mart. Faced with an aggressive 12 week schedule, our team completed the project on time and allowed the client to move in as planned. The design features an employee town center with tiered millwork seating, a fully stocked vending store, shower rooms, a game room and a coffee bar. The space also features an array of team gathering areas, featuring large touch screen monitors and full height millwork panels with writeable glass panes to encourage collaboration. Capping off the space is a web connected car technology testing lab, featuring an overhead garage door.

Northwestern University employed Bear to build seven research laboratories in their Technical Institute Building. During the project, Bear worked closely with the McCormick School of Engineering to schedule shut downs on critical building systems, such as reverse osmosis water and lab gases. Failure to coordinate these shutdowns could have negatively affected operations in the adjacent research labs. Five of the new labs will be used for research in the field of molecular nanotechnology and the remaining two will be used for the biotechnology masters program.
