Every Tuesday at 5:30 pm, Dignity Diner hosts a free dinner for their community. Since 1992, they have invited their neighbors who are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity into the church to provide a sit-down, restaurant-style meal. Guests are served a three-course dinner—a fresh salad, an entrée, and a dessert. Dignity Diner is a place where respect is always on the menu.
As an extension of that program, they also provide a sack lunch for each guest to take home, and that is how BEAR Cares participated. Funded by BEAR Construction, the BEAR Cares team volunteered their time to prepare the 60 sack lunches in the early afternoon that were given to the guests later that evening.
BEAR Cares is an employee driven initiative that organizes and participates in various outreach programs, fundraising events, donation activities and other forms of volunteerism.
