BEAR will begin construction this November on the DuPage Court renovation project in downtown Elgin, starting with the complete demolition and replacement of a new pedestrian walkway between Spring Street and S. Grove Avenue. The complete overhaul will include a new custom gateway steel entry archway, sculpture, canopies, energy efficient lighting and sound system – transforming DuPage Court into the centerpiece of downtown Elgin.
In addition to the new amenities, new underground utilities including water services, storm sewer and sanitary sewer are being added below DuPage Court and new brick pavers installed. The increased electrical capacity will allow for a stage area for outdoor performances. Site furnishings and landscaping will complete the project later next year in May.
