Yesterday, the Daily Herald newspaper featured a story about an event put on by an organization that BEAR regularly supports and will again this year: SLSF’s Annual St. Patrick’s Dinner. Much to our delight, the photo accompanying the headline featured BEAR’s very own Jim Wienold and Alicia Gabriel, as taken from last year’s event.
The 21st annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner fundraiser is coming from 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Rolling Meadows Park District Community Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive, and you can sign up now to sponsor this great cause. The event features Irish dancers from Hogan Irish Dance Academy; free wine tasting from d’Vine Wine and Gifts; a meal of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, chicken, Irish soda bread; and dessert. The event also includes a photo booth and drinks included featuring Jameson, beer and seltzer.
SLSF is the fundraising arm of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). NWSRA is an extension of 17 park districts in the Northwest suburbs, providing recreational opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA offers special events, trips, leisure education, inclusion services, athletics programs, weekly programs and much more.
