BEAR Construction Company was hired to transform an existing 30,000-SF warehouse into a food distribution facility with capabilities for cold storage, freezer storage and a mushroom area. The existing concrete slab was removed in order to install an efficient insulated and heated floor system below the freezer. The remainder of the warehouse was converted into a cold storage facility featuring a new cooling system with special humidification requirements for the mushroom area. In order to accommodate the increased electrical loads, new electrical service was brought in. The complete overhaul included a new fire protection system and new lighting. The existing office space was expanded to include larger meeting rooms along with new finishes throughout.
