Project Details
This streetscape project required a complete demolition and rebuild of a half-block property in a revitalized retail district in the City of Elgin. The existing pedestrian plaza and fountain were demolished and removed. All new underground utilities were installed under the plaza including water, sewer and electric. The new streetscape features decorative brick pavers throughout, lighting, shade structures, planters, site furnishings and outdoor seating for local restaurants. Although substantially completed in the summer of 2024, the new steel entry arch with interior LED lighting was installed at the east end of the plaza in the fall of the year.
