Energy Sports Complex

The new 90,500-SF sports complex project began with earthmoving activities on a vacant, undeveloped 8-acre site. The newly constructed inflatable sports dome and clubhouse complex sits on a heavily prepared site which required over sixty 60’ deep driven H-pile foundations and 8’Hx2’W perimeter concrete grade beams. The facility contains twelve play/practice courts, a pro shop, concessions area, offices, team huddle rooms and other program elements. Adding to the complexity of the project, all new site utilities and services were installed. A Vapor Mitigation System was also installed to monitor subsurface emissions as required by the IEPA. To maintain a constant inflation and tempered condition year-round, a complex mechanical and electrical system was installed that includes a 46,000 CFM main inflation unit with heating, stand by inflation unit and emergency generator, and two standalone AC units for cooling during summer months.
