The Drake Oak Brook Plaza

BEAR’s project at the iconic The Drake Oak Brook Plaza spans the grand entry to the back corridors, including the 1st floor public restrooms. The multiple-phased work was strategically orchestrated during business hours to ensure the safety of tenants and guests while maintaining maximum foot traffic for normal building operations. The floor-to-ceiling transformation included 9’ by 4’ porcelain tiles, a millwork welcoming desk, millwork panels to wrap existing columns, a large format acoustical ceiling system, acoustical panel ceiling cloud systems and all new finishes in the restrooms. More than a face lift of finishes, the extensive project scope included removal of mail drops boxes, infilling of the lobby floor, new revolving doors and ADA compliant swing doors at the main entry. The original MEP’s were also replaced including air curtains to meet code compliance.
